Exploring Utah - Tom's Canyon Trail, Kanab, Utah It was our first day in Utah, and we were in our hotel in Kanab, UT with about a 1/2 day to kill. We hadn't really planned on hiking that day after a long day of travel the day before and a late afternoon event scheduled, but it was a beautiful day and the mountains were calling, so we decided to //08/ The canyon trail begins at Rainbow Falls just below the store and soda fountain. A wooden stairway leads down into the heart of the canyon alongside a moss-covered sandstone wall. At the bottom of the stairs, hikers veer right and continue along a dirt path which follows beside Dismals An excellent resource for a trip to Havasupai. Explains more trails than just the main trail in. Explains a brief history of the Havasupai. An interesting point I found in this book was that Supai, AZ is the only village left that still uses a mule/horse train to bring mail in and out of the canyon, so that means the mail gets a unique postal stamp that can only be gotten when sent from :// The result is a photogenic wonder, ever-changing as the sun passes over head.
